During the time you are on the ship, you will not need to use cash or a credit card for each purchase—all incidentals, purchases and services may be charged to your stateroom folio. In port, you may wish to carry cash or a credit card to buy snacks and souvenirs.
Before Your Vacation
To help ensure you won't have any issues using your card, please remember to contact your credit or debit card company to let them know you will be traveling out of your home country.
Aboard the Ship
All onboard pricing is in US currency (USD). Cashless payment methods are encouraged for convenience. Purchases (such as beverages, merchandise, photography and gratuities) and services (including spa and salon, medical and laundry) will be charged to your stateroom folio.
Guests are also welcome to make payments in cash while on board. United States dollars (USD) are accepted across the entire fleet, and both USD and Singapore dollars (SGD) are accepted on the Disney Adventure. Please note that all cash transactions will be rounded up to the nearest dollar.
During your online check-in before the cruise, you can provide any of the following credit cards to charge shipboard purchases to your stateroom folio:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- Disney Visa Credit Card
- American Express
- Discover Credit Card
- Diners Club International
- Japanese Credit Bureau
- China UnionPay
Please note that BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) cards are not accepted on board. Also, credit cards issued from non-US banks may incur a foreign transaction fee and be subject to currency conversion rates when used to pay your onboard account balance. If using a credit card issued from a non-US bank, we recommend notifying your bank of your travels before boarding the ship to prevent any delays with transaction approvals.
All charges must be settled before leaving the ship. You may use the credit card on file or pay with cash, debit card, Disney Gift Card or American Express Travelers Cheques denominated in US dollars (USD). We recommend using a credit card rather than a debit card when possible, to avoid any temporary holds that your financial institution may place on your debit card account. For those planning to settle their stateroom folio charges in cash, note that exchange rates on the ship are subject to change without notice and may be different than those offered by other financial institutions. We recommend exchanging to USD prior to your voyage. Guests on the Disney Adventure are advised to exchange their currency for either USD or SGD. Onboard charges may be settled in cash using either of these currencies.
Credit Card Accounts
If you placed a credit card on file during online check-in, there is no need to visit the Guest Services desk to settle your account, as your card will automatically be charged.
We will automatically process payment on your credit card each time your account reaches the following credit limits based on the length of your sailing.
2 to 5 nights = credit limit of $300 USD
6 to 9 nights = credit limit of $500 USD
10 nights or greater = credit limit of $700 USD
Please note that credit cards issued from non-US banks may incur a foreign transaction fee when used to pay your onboard account balance. If using a credit card issued from a non-US bank, we recommend notifying your bank of your travels to prevent any delays with transaction approvals. Additionally, we suggest using a credit card rather than a debit card, when possible, to avoid any temporary holds on your debit card account.
In Ports of Call
In The Bahamas and the Caribbean, US dollars and major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. For European and Australia and New Zealand cruises, major credit cards (preferably Mastercard and VISA) with embedded chips are accepted by most merchants in our ports of call. US dollars or American Express Travelers Cheques in USD are the preferable choice for foreign currency exchange in local currency.
For your convenience, when the ship is sailing in Europe, euros (€), in limited amounts, will also be available for exchange at Guest Services on board the ship. The largest denomination that can be exchanged on board is €20 notes.
