Guests with Disabilities – Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
Are there special services I can request to assist with my medical condition?
A:
Yes. Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of helpful Services for Guests with Disabilities.
Guests with medical conditions are encouraged to submit their requests by filling out the Special Services Information Form as soon as possible so we can assist you with any special arrangements.
Please note the following:
- You are responsible for renting any medical equipment from a third-party supplier as well as arranging the pickup and return of that equipment.
- If you plan to bring medical equipment or supplies on board, please complete the Special Services Information Form. A Disney Cruise Line Special Services Cast Member may contact you prior to boarding if any additional information is needed.
- A small sharps container for the disposal of needles, syringes and lancets is located in each stateroom bathroom. If you need a sharps container in your stateroom and do not see one, please tell the Crew Member who tends to your stateroom and a container will be provided. Sharps containers are also located in public restrooms.
- You should verify with your physician that you are well enough to travel on your selected itinerary.
- Guests who monitor or maintain a medical condition wirelessly should be prepared to utilize alternate means to manage any medical condition throughout the sailing. Wireless Internet access is available at an additional charge. The onboard internet service will be noticeably slower than you may be accustomed to and may at times be interrupted or unavailable.
- We recommend that you carry copies of any pertinent medical and emergency contact information.
- Our onboard Health Centers are equipped to provide first aid and basic emergency care.
- A doctor and nurse are onboard and on-call 24 hours a day for emergencies.
- Medical services provided by the ship’s Health Center are considered out-of-country care, and insurance is not accepted on board.
- Prior to sailing, please verify with your insurance provider that your coverage includes reimbursement for medical care outside your home country. If your current policy does not provide this type of coverage, Disney Cruise Line recommends purchasing additional medical and evacuation coverage available outside the country through your provider, and/or other travel insurance.
