Discover Scuba Diving

Experience the excitement of scuba diving without taking a certification course. Learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to exploring the fascinating underwater world.

Your dive takes place in "Shipwreck Cove" at Buck Island—a protected marine sanctuary—in water no deeper than 40 feet. Enjoy an up-close-and-personal experience with tropical fish, turtles and rays, as well as a wide variety of corals and other marine life.

Since the Discover Scuba Diving program includes a scuba dive in open water, your experience may count towards Open Water certification, putting you a step ahead of the game when you realize all the fun that's waiting for you as a scuba diver!

• No experience is necessary to participate but a medical questionnaire and release is required. Also, Guest must feel comfortable swimming in open water.
• For safety reasons, Guests who can answer YES to any of the following statements are not permitted to participate without consulting a physician and completing supplemental forms: currently have an ear infection; have a history of ear disease, hearing loss or problems with balance; have a history of ear or sinus surgery; are currently suffering from a cold, congestion, sinusitis or bronchitis; have a history of respiratory problems, severe attacks of hay fever or allergies, or lung disease; have had a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) or history of chest surgery; have active asthma or history of emphysema or tuberculosis; are currently taking medication that carries a warning about impairment of physical or mental abilities; have behavioral health, mental or psychological problems or a nervous system disorder; are or could be pregnant; have a history of colostomy; have a history of heart disease or heart attack, heart surgery, or blood vessel surgery; have a history of high blood pressure, angina, or take medication to control blood pressure; are over 45 AND have a family history of heart attack or stroke; have a history of bleeding or other blood disorders; have a history of diabetes; have a history of seizures, blackouts, or fainting, convulsions or epilepsy or take medications to prevent them; have a history of back, arm or leg problems following an injury, fracture or surgery; have a history of fear of closed or open spaces or panic attacks (claustrophobia or agoraphobia ).
• Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted.
• Scuba equipment is included. A wetsuit may be rented for $10.00.
• In addition to dive time, there will also be time for snorkeling. Snorkel equipment is included.
• Guests are encouraged to bring cash, sunscreen, towel, sunglasses, hats, underwater cameras and backpacks.
• Due to limited availability, Guests are encouraged to book early.
