The historic sites of St. Thomas/St. John include such memorable monuments as Blackbeard’s Castle and Fort Christian. When you come to San Juan, take a ferry to the Barcardi distillery or stroll the colorful cobblestone streets lined with 16th– and 17th–century houses.
At Castaway Cay, the youngest cruisers enjoy a sandy play spot called Scuttle’s Cove. Visit Marge’s Barges & Sea Charter Dock to board a charter for offshore sightseeing in Castaway Cay’s clear blue waters. Vessels include a glass-bottom boat, a fishing boat and a power catamaran.
Activities
Reef snorkeling and sunbathing are popular pastimes at the island of St. John. When in San Juan, wander the labyrinthine ramparts and tunnels of the great El Morro citadel and the venerable Castillo de San Cristó bal. Indulge in the savory flavors of the local “Cré ole” cuisine!
