On this tour you will:
  • Meet your guide and begin your adventure boarding an enclosed custom-built boat designed for marine wildlife viewing and photography. Watch for whales and sea lions and explore the rugged beauty of Alaska's deepest fjord, Lynn Canal, during the approximate 60-minute scenic ride.
  • Land on the beach at Glacier Point and take an approximate 30-minute drive through the rain forest towards the gear pavilion.
  • "Gear up" (rain gear, rubber boots, lifejackets) and set out on a ¼-mile walk that includes breathtaking views of the Davidson Glacier, which tumbles from the towering mountains into a pristine lake.
  • Board a stable 31-foot voyager canoe and paddle toward the face of the glacier that grows ever larger and more massive as you approach. Enjoy the intense blue of the ice sharply contrasting the polished granite walls and vibrant green forest during the approximate 75-minute canoe ride.
  • Enjoy a box lunch (included in your tour) and navigate back to Skagway.
Important Additional Information
  • Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted. Tour operators will deny participation to Guests arriving in wheelchairs or electric scooters.
  • Guests should dress warmly and in layers.
  • Guests need to be in good physical condition and be able to hike over uneven natural terrain.
  • Lunch box items may include a turkey, cheese and lettuce sandwich served on a baguette roll, chips, carrot sticks a cookie. Bottled water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available.
  • Guests are encouraged to bring currency to purchase extras such as souvenirs.
  • Due to the extremely limited availability of this shore excursion, Guests are encouraged to book early.
  • You should never feel that gratuities are expected, but it is customary to leave a tip in recognition of exceptional service in restaurants, taxis and for excursion guides and drivers. It is always up to you to determine the amount.
